Programs


Kids & Juniors - The purpose of this program is to help kids improve their motor skills, learn basic reflex on how to fall on the ground protecting their heads.  As they grow, usually after 6 years of age, we gradually start teaching basic techniques of Jiu Jitsu and Judo (throws and take downs).  Since our teaching method is based on traditional Japanese Judo we will pass on the importance of discipline, perseverance, respect and teamwork.  Which can be important lessons for life.  Our students over time have shown improvement in self-esteem and confidence, which are two important characteristics to avoid bullying.

Beginners –The purpose of this program is to introduce basic techniques of both Jiu Jitsu and Judo to our students, while improving physical conditioning and elasticity.  One of our main concerns, if not the main one, is safety.  As a beginner we will help you to develop the reflexes and skills to avoid injuries as you progress to our advanced program.

Advanced – This program will take you to the next level of Jiu Jitsu and Judo, which if you dedicate yourself throughout the years will result in becoming a black belt.  Every student needs to keep in mind that getting a black belt can’t be an objective, but a consequence of years of hard work and dedication.  This program will allow you to become a black belt in Jiu Jitsu, Judo or both.   We will guide you to reach your black belt, but dedication, discipline, perseverance and respect are an important aspect as much as technique and physical attributes.

Competition Team – This program is by invitation only, but please feel free to volunteer.  The team will train in a different time schedule.  Sensei Mario Sperry and coaches will push you to train hard and get physically fit for top-level competition and performance.  Students that accept this challenge, as a competitor representing our school, will be required to attend training regularly, follow a healthy diet / lifestyle and focus on strength and cardio training outside the mats.

Kickboxing - This program is focused on health and fitness. Through kickboxing, our members will see a quick improvement on their cardiovascular capabilities and overall fitness. Our classes are focused on kickboxing for self defense. We believe teaching the full discipline is the best way to achieve all goals a student may have when he/she chooses to practice a physical activity. We welcome Women, Men and Kids.

Private Classes – Private classes are designed to student, independent of level, which want to improve their technical skill on a faster pace.  Classes usually last one hour and can be tailored made for your goal.
