sports based on kicking and punching, historically developed from karate mixed with boxing. Kickboxing is practiced for self-defence, general fitness, or as a contact sport. After just a few classes, students will see results in the form of increased strength, weight loss, better cardiovascular capabilities and overall wellbeing. Due to the interactive nature of the classes, Kickboxing is also a good environment to meet people and make friends.      
Our kickboxing classes are focused on improving overall fitness and strength. Kids, Men and Women of all ages are welcome and our students are paired based on their individual characteristics and goals.  

A typical kickboxing class includes:

  • A functional warm up. Students will learn basic movements as they warm up to prevent injuries and improve specific skills that will help them learn and practice the techniques thought during the class.
  • Technique of the day: Instructor will demonstrate one or two techniques of attack and defense
  • Drilling: Students practice the technique of the day in pairs. The instructor will be watching and helping students improve their technique.
  • Sparring: At the last part of the class students will practice in a controlled combat. Attention to safety rules and proper pairing of students based on weight/strength, individual goals and skills is observed to ensure safety and maximum health and fitness benefit
 
What to you need for the classes?
The recommended apparel for kickboxing classes are shorts and shirts or rash guards (rash guards are Lycra based shirts or pants, very appropriated for the practice of martial arts). Pants are also allowed if they are appropriate for physical activities. which we have at the gym for sale. Hand wraps are required to prevent injuries, and gloves. We have shorts, rash guards and hand wraps for sale at the gym, and the coach can help you choose the right gloves for you. We can land you gloves for your first classes.
